North Carolina Forever hosted the second in a series of educational webinars about issues facing our state’s lands and waters on July 19th. The webinar focused on the importance of parks as a tool for conservation, economic development, and public health.
Sponsored by State Employees’ Credit Union, the webinar started with a “fireside” chat between NC Forever Chair and North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association Executive Director Michelle Wells and NC State Parks Director Dwayne Patterson. Later, Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation Executive Director Jesse Pope led a panel discussion which included Host of the PBS North Carolina series “Exploring North Carolina” Tom Earnhardt, former North Carolina Secretary of Commerce Tony Copeland, and North Carolina State Senator Deanna Ballard.
