Our Legislative Goals
Increase recurring dollars for the 3 conservation trust funds
- Land and Water Fund: $45 million recurring
- Currently: $28 million recurring
- In addition to traditional conservation projects, this funding also goes to support military readiness
- Parks and Recreation Trust Fund: $45 million recurring
- Currently: $28 million recurring
- Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund: $25 million recurring
- Currently: $5 million recurring
Fund FerryMon (Pamlico Sound) and ModMon (Neuse River): $360,000 recurring
- FerryMon: $175,000 per year (direct cost)
- ModMon: $185,000 per year (direct cost)
Increase Conservation Tax Credit funding to $15 million and remove sunset provision
- Currently: $5 million/year with sunset in 2026
Increase funding to support conservation on private lands, specifically:
- Ag Wrap: $3 million recurring
- Ag Cost Share Program: $10 million recurring with flexibility for administration
- Community Conservation Assistance Programs: $1.5 million recurring
